We met on October 11th 2009 after exchanging weeks worth of messages on a dating website. We fell in love hard and fast, and shared our first “I Love You’s” on New Years Eve that year. Fast forward seven years, two apartments and a Boxer puppy later, when Jeff proposed to me on my birthday, September 11th, 2016. We went to one of our favorite spots, the New England Aquarium. Once we got to the top of the big center tank, Jeff pulled me aside, and got down on one knee! He added some special touches with a custom made engagement ring and having two of my closest friends/photographers show up to capture the moment. It was one of the best moments of my life!
We recently purchased our first home, in Malden, MA. It’s so exciting to be getting married and starting our lives in our new home all at the same time!
We wanted to choose a unique venue with character, and we found that in the awesomely cool Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation in Waltham, MA. Check it out here!
The Day of
Our ceremony will start at 5pm, in Landry Park (weather permitting) that is right in front of the museum. If you are staying with us at the Westin Waltham, big yellow school buses (fun right?) will be at the hotel to bring everyone to and from the venue. Please be downstairs by 4:20pm to board the buses, they will be leaving promptly at 4:30pm. If you’d like to just Lyft or Uber, go for it…just please arrive around 4:45pm.
The buses will be leaving the museum when the reception ends at 11pm to bring everyone back to the hotel.
If you are driving, there is parking near the venue at the Embassy Parking Facility, accessible at the end of Cooper St., just off Pine Street, which is a cross street of Moody St. NOTE: This lot costs $2 CASH ONLY. There are also numerous other off-street public parking lots in downtown Waltham, in addition to a good amount of on-street parking.
The museum address is 154 Moody Street, Waltham, Massachusetts. HOWEVER, that address is admittedly confusing, because it suggests that you’d find the entrance on Moody; you won’t. Don’t worry, once you park, there will be signs guiding you to the ceremony!
The museum is located in the heart of downtown Waltham, on the north bank of the iconic Charles River, a three or four minute walk through Landry Park from the Moody Street bridge and the Waltham Center MBTA Fitchburg Line Commuter Rail stop.
Following the ceremony, our cocktail hour will begin at 5:30pm inside the museum, then dinner & dancing! Our party will rage till 11pm and then anyone that wants the night to keep on rocking can come with us to the hotel bar for a few more drinks!
Things to do around town
We want you to get the most out of your time in Boston, here are a few ideas.
New England Aquarium
The place we got engaged! If you’re an aquarium fan, you’ve got to see this one.
Night Shift Brewing
We LOVE going to breweries, and this one is by far one of our favorites. Their beer is top notch, and they have a great outdoor space to chill on a nice day. Located in Everett, MA down the road from an outdoor mall called Assembly Row. https://www.nightshiftbrewing.com
“Boston’s most enchanting street”. This eight block street is a famous spot in the city, and rightfully so. It’s full of awesome shops and restaurants, and if you walk in the direction of Arlington St., you end up at the beautiful Boston Public Garden.
This is one of SLB’s top 4 places on earth ( If you’re curious, the other places are Disney World, her parents house and Target ). It’s also a quintessential Boston thing to do! There are home games from May 25th-May30th, so if you’re staying in town a few extra days, or coming in early, catch a game! Schedule & tickets here
The Institute of Contemporary Art
Located in the Seaport District, it’s right on the water, and a short walk to many bars and restaurants! https://www.icaboston.org/
Museum of Fine Arts Boston
Located a half a mile from Fenway Park!
